What is Healing?
British healing has been part of our culture for millennia. As such it is rightly part of our Heritage. Healing is a natural non-invasive technique used for the relief of problems of the mind and body. Healing enhances self healing and encourages wholeness and stability, and helps to restore the balance in your life. It relaxes the body and the mind and replaces any depleted energy. It boosts the body’s own healing qualities to help to balance the parts of the body’s system that are unbalanced.
Healing is complementary to any other therapy or treatment. It is not, however, a substitute for, or an alternative to conventional medicine. It is recognised by the NHS as a therapy and the GMC ( General Medical Council) permits doctors to refer patients to healers.
Healing can be used to help any condition or illness and has no side effects. Many illnesses have their origins in these deep levels e.g. stress, tension and fatigue, and can be alleviated when the cause is revealed and addressed. Healing will reach the deepest levels of a person’s being. Healing benefits people whilst being respectful of all faiths and belief systems, irrespective of race or gender.

What happens in a healing session?
Healing sessions, usually about an hour, or occasionally more, are primarily informal and relaxing. The healing process will be explained to you and you will be encouraged to explain how you feel. You will not be asked to remove any clothing other than outdoor wear and shoes and then be invited to lie on a couch or sit in a chair. Then you will be asked to relax and close your eyes. Healers generally work a short distance from the body but gentle touch is sometimes used. Sometimes coldness or heat is felt during the process, others may feel nothing at all, but they will still benefit.
Sometimes the process emerges slowly and it may take a day or two for benefit to be felt. Others feel different straight away. General questions about your health and well being will be asked and confirmed with you and are completely confidential
How will it help me?
Healing will help a wide range of problems with body or mind. Sometimes you may experience emotional relief as a part of the process as healing begins to restore the balance in your life. Healing can also be a wonderful support during crisis situations and can especially help patients with terminal illnesses and thos around them. If you are physically unable to attend, but are keen to be given healing a healer may come to you or suggest that distant healing is given as it is also an effective release and can be easily arranged.
